Everyone at our practice is committed to providing you with the very best for dairy farmers. Our veterinary team bring a wealth of experience to the practice and have individually obtained high standards of professional qualification. Our support team are all local farmers so we can always provide staff who understand the demands that you are under.

  • Amy Jones - Cornwall Dairy (Web)

    Amy Jones

    Clinical Director / Vet

    BVSc MRCVS

    Amy grew up in Cornwall, moving away to study at Bristol University before returning to Bude in 2005. From 2008, she has served the farming community around the Bodmin area, with cows always her favourites!

    And she has a keen interest in lameness and mobility, mastitis and fertility. Between work, her husband and two children, Amy is a downhill mountain biker, racing enduro at national level.

  • Ben Hutley - Cornwall Dairy (Web)

    Ben, a local dairy farmers son, has been back working in Cornwall for over a decade, firmly focused on dairy vet work. He completed a professionally recognised post-graduate qualification in Cattle Health and Production back in 2008 and uses this knowledge in his day-to-day workings on farm.

    A founding member of Cornwall Dairy Vets, he is very excited to be able to offer this dairy-specific vet service. Outside of work, he is a keen runner and cyclist, but is usually kept busy with his young family.

  • Phil Dawber - Cornwall Dairy (Web)

    Phil Dawber

    Clinical Director / Vet

    BVSc MRCVS

    Phil has been working in the dairy industry as a vet for over 10 years and moved to Cornwall with his family in 2015. He focuses his time on dairy cow fertility and enjoys working alongside AI technicians, foot trimmers and  nutritionists to help our farmers better manage their herds.

    He has a keen interest in teaching and spent time training farmers in Africa as well as running courses in the UK. Outside of work he is a busy family man and a keen runner actively promoting the health benefits of eating a dairy diet as he competes in races up to 100 miles long.

  • Joao Almeida - Cornwall Dairy (Web)

    Joao Almeida

    Vet

    MSc MRCVS

    Joao joined us part time from Calweton Vets in January 2023, he originates from Coimbra, Portugal. After completing his second degree (first being in cellular and molecular Biology) he worked with dairy cattle in Sao Miguel Azores in Portugal and beef cattle in Milford Donegal in Ireland. In 2017 Joao made the decision to come to the UK to work in Somerset before starting work in Cornwall. Joao has a keen interest in general dairy veterinary work, particularly cow signals and reproduction. In his spare time, he enjoys, fishing, running and spending time with his family.

  • Lowenna Dyer - Cornwall Dairy (Web)

    Practice Manager

    Lowenna, our practice manager has always loved farming, having grew up on her Dad’s farm on the edge of Bodmin Moor. After leaving college she worked at Cornwall Farmers in the agricultural department where she gained her R-SQP qualification to sell POM-VPS medicines. She then moved onto working at a local vets practice where she gained the skills she uses today! Lowenna lives locally on her farm, as well as running her own Lely robot farm milking pedigree Jersey’s.

  • Hannah Lutey - Cornwall Dairy (Web)

    Hannah Lutey

    VetTech / Approved TB tester

    Hannah joined the team in March 2022, growing up on her family beef and sheep farm in Cornwall means she has always been involved in farming and is a member of her local YFC club. Hannah is a Veterinary Technician and has been an approved TB tester since August 2022, she is also an accredited ROMS mobility scorer. Hannah is keen to get out on farm disbudding, vaccinating and is always trying to promote our youngstock service even further. When Hannah is not at work you will usually find her farming with her partner or walking her Cocker Spaniel Ginny.

    Sarah Stokes

    VetTech / Approved TB tester

    Sarah joined the team in December 2025, growing up on her family beef and pig farm in Cornwall means she has always been involved in farming and has a keen interest in cows. Sarah is a Veterinary Technician and has been an approved TB tester since January 2026 although has been a tester previously so has plenty of experience! Sarah is keen to get out on farm disbudding and vaccinating whilst having a chat with our farmers. When Sarah is not at work you will usually find her either working her cocker spaniels Nel and Quinn or you might find her working as a sports therapist on horses and people!

    Lucy Ferguson

    VetTech / Aprooved TB tester

    Lucy joined the team in October 2025, growing up in Delabole on her small holding she gained a love for farm animals. She then joined Camelford Young Farmers in 2023. Lucy is a Veterinary Technician and has been an approved TB tester since December 2025.  When Lucy is not at work you will usually find her either at the pub with her friends or at the gym!

    Gemma Vernon

    Practice administrator

    Gemma joined the team in November 2025, she grew up in Herefordshire but has lived in Cornwall with her husband and kids for the last 15 years. Gemma is a practice administrator and all things organiser! When Gemma is not at work you will find her helping out on the farm, captaining her local women’s rugby team or riding her horse.
